(DeSoto) The city of DeSoto will be looking for a new police chief. This (Friday) afternoon, Rick Draper announced he is resigning from his position. He has spent the last 14 years in law enforcement and the past three years as the Chief of Police in DeSoto. Draper cites police pay as the biggest reason why he will be leaving at the end of the month.
Draper says he is going to step into a completely different field now.
Draper will begin his new position with Mahn Funeral Homes in DeSoto soon. His last official day with the DeSoto Police Department will be October 31st.
