SEP 24, 2014 FARMINGTON VFW BREAKFAST


The Farmington VFW will serve up breakfast Wednesday morning starting at 7. It's five dollars for eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. Proceeds go to the programs this VFW supports.

SEP 25, 2014 MUM'S CAFE FREE DINNER AT MEMORIAL UNITED METHODIST IN FARMINGTON


The Farmington United Methodist men will be preparing and serving the dinner Thursday night at MUM's Cafe Thursday night. The free dinner is served in the church dining room on Karsch Blvd. across from Belgrade State Bank.

SEP 25, 2014 PERMIT DEADLINE FOR DESLOGE CITY WIDE YARD SALE


September 25th is the deadline to get a permit for the Desloge City Wide Yard Sale. The sale is set for October 4th. There is a fee of five or seven dollars if you want your yard sale to be included on the maps that are being printed to advertise yard sale locations.

Colton's Grill and Steakhouse in Farmington will be the featured restaurant for the Dine Out program for the United Way of St. Francois County. Colton's will donate a portion of what they make on the 25th to the United Way.

Freedomfest '14, sponsored by "We the People of St. Francois County" will begin at noon this Saturday at noon at the Gazebo in Long Park in Farmington. There will be speeches of the value of living free and music by the Black Diamond Band.

SEP 27-28, 2014 MUSIC FESTIVAL IN FESTUS


The City of Festus will present George Portz's Festus Traditional Music Festival Saturday, September 27th and Sunday the 28th at West City Park. The festival runs from noon until 6 both days and features bluegrass, country, cajun, gospel and country clogging. There's also a craft show, food and primitive camping available.

There will be an Operation Christmas Child Countdown Event on September 27, 2014 at Black River Electric Co-Op in Fredericktown, MO. Time is 1:00 pm. Anyone interested in packing shoeboxes to send to hurting children around the world are welcome. There will be materials, information, refreshments, door prizes, and fun!

The annual Minnith Mountain Music Hee Haw tribute is Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th at 6:30 pm at the Minnith Pavillion west of the St. Mary Exit on Route N. There will be a free legal services attorney in Potosi on October 1st from 10am til 12 noon at the Washington County Library. The attorney will provide no cost legal assistance to low income persons experiencing civil legal problems. Traffic and criminal court matters are excluded.

The annual Freedom Fest and Car Show in Annapolis is set for Friday and Saturday October 10th and 11th. OCT 28, 2014 UNITED WAY FUNDRAISER AT CENTENE CENTER IN FARMINGTON


The choirs of North County and Farmington High School and Middle School will present a concert as a fundraiser for the United Way of St. Francois County on Tuesday, October 28th at 7 pm at the Centene Center in Farmington. A minimum donation of $5 dollars per family is asked as admission. Their goal is to raise $3000 dollars and 100% of the proceeds collected will go to the United Way.

The Crystal Oaks Foundations is hosting a Halloween themed trivia night and silent auction on Saturday, November 1st at the KC Hall in Festus. Doors open at 6:30, trivia begins at 7 pm. The Valle Catholic School will honor all Veterans with and all school Mass at 8 am on Friday, November 7th at the Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the school cafeteria. As a special treat Chris Kertz will provide a display of World War II equipment on the Valle Desert. Everyone in the community is invited to attend but a special welcome is extended to all veterans.

There's a blood drive on Thursday, November 13th from noon to 6 pm at The United Steel Workers Union hall in Ste. Genevieve.
