(Southeast Missouri) State Senator Kevin Engler of Farmington is extremely happy that Governor Nixon has signed Senate Bill 599 into law. The bill involves fines paid by the Doe Run Company and Engler says a number of southeast Missouri schools will benefit from that money.
Engler says State Representative Paul Fitzwater handled the bill on the house side.
The Doe Run Company had to pay around three million dollars in fines. Engler says Arcadia Valley, for example, will receive close to 850 thousand dollars in funding.
