(Washington D.C.) The U.S. Department of Agriculture has declared that Alexander, Jackson, Pulaski, Perry, Randolph and Union counties in southwest Illinois have been named contiguous drought disaster areas and are eligible for assistance.
All qualified farm operators in designated areas are eligible for low interest loans.
Meanwhile, Missouri counties continue to wait for a disaster declaration.
