(Jefferson City) The Missouri Farm Bureau Convention opened Monday with Attorney General Chris Koster announcing his opinions on several issues important to farmers.
Leslie Holloway is legislative affairs director for Missouri Farm Bureau and says the Attorney General, on behalf of the State of Missouri, will be initiating action against the State of California regarding egg sales.
He will challenge that states law prohibiting the sale of eggs in California from other states where the same strict standards on egg production are not in place.
Another issue is in conjunction with the Attorney's General in Indiana and Kansas, to file a legal motion in support of the American Farm Bureau's challenge to the EPA's establishment of a regulatory plan for the Chesapeake Bay area, directly impacting farmers.
