DEC 11, 2013 DESOTO TODDLER ABUSED, BABY SITTER ARRESTED (Audio)




(DESOTO) Charges are filed in the case where a two-year-old DeSoto boy was abused by a family member. The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged 25-year-old Jeremy Dean Rush Jr. with 1 count of abuse of a child. DeSoto Police say the toddler suffered from extensive bruising, a fractured left arm, and internal injuries. Captain Dan Contarini says they arrested the suspect today (Thursday)...

The parents left the child with Rush on the 1st of November. When they returned home, the boy was asleep and the abuse was not discovered until the next day. He was taken to St. Anthony's then Cardinal Glennon. If convicted, Rush could get a maximum of 15 years in prison. The two-year-old was back home with his parents just a couple of days after the incident.
