12th Erica Wade Family Fun Run Scheduled for October 14th

The 12th Erica Wade Foundation 5-K Family Fun Run will take place about a month earlier than in years past. This year, it will be Saturday morning, October 14th in Farmington. Organizer Brian Bates says it’s a very competitive 5-K race but if you’re not really a runner and would still like to participate to help the cause, you can get in on the short course by running or walking.

Bates explains why he and his family started this fundraising effort over a decade ago.

Besides the family fun run, Bates says they plan on raffling off the morning of the run a Henry Golden Boy rifle and a shotgun, plus a $500 gift card. There is a 30-dollar entry fee and Thursday is the last day you can register to guarantee yourself the right sized shirt that will come with your entry fee. To register, go to ericawadefoundation.org. The family fun run will begin at El Tapitio restaurant behind Walmart in Farmington on Walton Drive. It gets going at 7 Saturday morning, October 14th with same day registration. The fun run starts at 8 o’clock.
