19 Year Old Derontea Martin Found Dead in Madison County

(Madison County) Early Sunday morning, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office along with Madison County E.M.S. found 19-year-old Derontea Martin dead of what appeared to be a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head. Authorities were responding to a Madison County Dispatch 911 call from a residence on Highway Z in Madison County. Upon arrival to the scene, Martin was located in the attic area of the residence and was found to be deceased. The initial investigation was led by the Madison County Sheriffs and Madison County Coroners Office with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. An autopsy was performed Monday at the St Francois County Morgue in Farmington. Martin graduated from Central High School in Park Hills in 2020 and played on the Rebels football team. Madison County Sheriff Katy McCutcheon information about this case through the Sheriff’s Department Facebook page and noted that once the final autopsy results and all witness statements have been received, the complete report will be submitted to the Madison County Prosecutors Office for further review.
