#2 South Iron Heading Back To Springfield

(Van Buren) The South Iron Panthers are heading back to Springfield. The #2 Panthers took down the Clarkton Reindeer 77-63 in the Class One Quarterfinals.

Clarkton led for the first five minutes 40 seconds of the game but South Iron followed up with an 11-2 run to end the first quarter up 15-9. The Panthers went into halftime leading 24-22…

Ruble and Sawyer Huff combined to score 21 of South Iron’s first half points. The duo finished with 18 and 19 points, respectively.

Clarkton started the second half strong, cutting the deficit to five points, but the Panthers kept pushing the pace…

Martez Burse also put up 19 for the 26-4 Panthers. #2 South Iron will play in Springfield next Thursday at noon against #1 Platte Valley (Jefferson/South Nodaway). We’ll have the call on J98 from Great Southern Bank Arena at Missouri State University.

Clarkton ends their campaign at 17-3. Senior Owen Morgan pumped in 19 points and sophomore Clayton Godsey added 15 for the Reindeer.
