#2 Ste. Genevieve Hosts #6 Cape Notre Dame In Class 3 Sectional Volleyball On J98

(Ste. Genevieve) A triumphant season for Ste. Genevieve’s volleyball team has landed the Dragons in the Class 3 state tournament and J98 will be there to broadcast their sectional matchup Thursday evening.

Ste. Gen is ranked 2nd in Class 3 with a record of 30-4-2. They’ll host the 23-7-4 and 6th ranked Cape Notre Dame Bulldogs.

Ste. Genevieve won the Class 3 District 2 championship in three sets over Potosi on Tuesday. It’s the Dragons’ first district championship in three years under head coach Carla Basler…

Ste. Gen and Cape Notre Dame have faced off twice this year already. They tied at the SEMO Dig For Life tournament in September but three days later, Ste. Genevieve won in four sets in the same gym where tonight’s match will be played.

It’s a quick turnaround from Tuesday but Basler has been studying the film that Cape has put out recently.

The Dragons and Bulldogs will battle it out in the Peggy J. Johnson Gymnasium in Ste. Genevieve on J98 Thursday evening. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will start at 6:45 with first serve at 7 o’clock.
