Jefferson County Executive Ken Waller is removing his name from the lawsuit.  It dealt with pay for elected officials in Jefferson County, and could result in larger salaries for several positions.  The charter ties their pay to what officials in 1st class, non-charter counties are being paid.  However, that makes up a large range of salaries, so several elected and former officials are suing the county.  Some have called it a cash grab, while others are just looking for clarification from a judge.  Ken Waller is just one of 12 names on the lawsuit….

If there is a ruling that salaries should have been higher when the charter was adopted, then former officials would be due back pay.  It could also increase their retirement benefits.
