(Perryville) The Perry County school board met Wednesday in preparation for the new school year which begins this upcoming Wednesday. Superintendent Andy Comstock says the highlight of the meeting was the positive evaluation received from the state regarding the district’s school buses.
Last year, the district decided to switch its school board policies from the Missouri Consultants for Education to the Missouri School Board Association policies. Comstock says with roughly 400 policies to review, the transition and adoption of the new MSBA policies takes time.
In other news from the Perry County school board meeting, the 2017 tax rate hearing will be Tuesday, August 22nd at 7. Also, school is cancelled for the total solar eclipse on Monday, the 21st.
