Hillsboro and Festus Battle for Conference and District Bragging Rights Friday Night

(FESTUS) Hillsboro and Festus are coming in hot for Friday night’s Jefferson County Conference and Class 4 District 1 clash at Tiger Stadium.

Hillsboro beat its neighbor three doors down in Farmington on Saturday, 36-34, pushing Hillsboro’s record to 2 and 1. Hawks head coach Lee Freeman feels good about his team going into this game considering they were able to pull out that Farmington W.

 
Several backs have stepped up in the ground game for Hillsboro with Hayden Voyles, Tyler Sizemore, Dylan Dace, Cody Smith, and Ethan Eckrich all with at least one touchdown. Coach Freeman has specific praise for senior Voyles and his ability to handle his job at fullback.

Festus is coming off a home-opening 42-20 victory over North County on Monday, making them 2 and 1 this season. Coach Schmidt says that playing on Monday and then again Friday was something he took into consideration throughout preparation this week.
