Crawford Electric Cooperative to Assist with Carolina’s Hurricane Cleanup

(Bourbon, MO) Several Missouri electric cooperatives are mobilizing to the Carolina’s this weekend to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Florence which is expected to make landfall on Friday afternoon on the southeast coast of North Carolina as a category 2 hurricane. One of the local co-ops answering the call for help is Crawford Electric Cooperative in Bourbon. Laura Hengstenberg is the Communications Director for the Crawford Electric Co-op. She says they are sending a few lineman and vehicles to help out with the storm.

The line workers travel out on Friday morning and will head to the closest location possible near the affected areas while remaining out of the storms path.

In all, 162 Missouri cooperative line workers from 33 of the state’s electric co-ops have been called into action to assist in the aftermath cleanup of Hurricane Florence.
