(KENNETT, Mo.) – Most members of the Central Rebels football team already know what it’s like to win a district title, and they will try to taste that feeling again when they visit the Kennett Indians Friday. The Rebels are looking for their seventh football district title in a row. Head coach Kory Schweiss said his players have showed great focus in preparation for this matchup.
Central’s defense helped close out a 13-6 victory over Dexter in the semifinals last week. Schweiss said they hope to lean on their defensive strength against top-seeded Kennett.
While the Rebels’ 6-5 overall record doesn’t quite stack up to Kennett’s 10-1 mark, Schweiss said the way his team has dealt with early season adversity could help them in the end.
Kickoff between Central and Kennett is set for 7 p.m. Friday on KREI. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 6 p.m.
