Farmington Awarded Grant Money For Maple Street Sidewalk

(FARMINGTON) – The City of Farmington is receiving some much-needed grant money for a new sidewalk along Maple Street. The city council approved a first reading of a bill that would authorize an agreement to accept money from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission at Thursday night’s meeting. City Administrator Greg Beavers said the money will fund 75 percent of the project to construct a sidewalk on Maple Street between Potosi Street and Maple Valley Drive.

The second reading and approval of the bill is scheduled for the next meeting on Monday, Jan. 28.

Beavers also said the city is preparing for the incoming winter weather this weekend.

Farmington is expected to receive between four to six inches of snow from now until Sunday morning.
