(FARMINGTON/FESTUS) Regional Radio’s Sunday coverage of the NFL Divisional Round playoffs kicks off Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
The first matchup of the day comes from the AFC as the 13-4 Los Angeles Chargers are in New England to take on the 11-5 Patriots. The Chargers went on the road and beat Baltimore 23-17 in the 1st round last weekend. Quarterback Phillip Rivers wants the guys to play loose and just have fun.
The Patriots received a first-round bye as the 2-seed. New England head coach Bill Belichick is impressed with the Chargers.
The Chargers and Patriots are scheduled to start at 12:05.
Following that game will be the 10-7 Philadelphia Eagles and the NFC top-seed New Orleans Saints at 13-3. The Eagles beat the Chicago Bears 16-15 last weekend during the Wild Card round behind back-up QB and Super Bowl champion Nick Foles. The Saints beat the Eagles earlier this season 48-7. Foles is excited about the rematch.
Despite the lopsided victory, Saints quarterback Drew Brees says the team shouldn’t underestimate the strength of Philly.
The Eagles and Saints are scheduled to start at 3:40 Sunday afternoon, also on AM 800 KREI and AM 1400 KJFF.
