Local National Forest Worker Happy to be Back at Work after Government Shutdown

(Potosi) Federal workers are happy to be back at work following the record-breaking partial government shutdown.

One of those who was furloughed is Becky Ewing, a forest ranger with the Mark Twain National Forest who works at the Potosi ranger station.

Now, Ewing says the National Forest Service is trying to play catch up.

However, there is still concern government workers could see another shutdown if a solution hasn’t been made between Congress and the President regarding funding for border security.

Negotiators have until Friday, February 15th to reach an agreement to stave off another shutdown.
