Whippets’ Cameron Brewer Says Teammates Deserve Credit for Dream Team Nod

(ELLINGTON) Cameron Brewer from the Ellington Whippets Class 2 State Champion baseball team was voted by area coaches to be a member of the 2019 Regional Radio Spring Sports Baseball Dream Team. Brewer says he’s honored by the Dream Team nod, but his teammates deserve a ton of credit for the recognition.

With his career at Ellington coming to a close, Brewer reflects back on his time with the Whippets and the bond he built with his teammates.

Brewer will continue his playing career next year at Three Rivers College and says the opportunity to play at Three Rivers’ field this season with Ellington offered him a chance to learn about the program.

Brewer finished the regular season with a .441 batting average, 11 homeruns, and 50 RBI. He was also electric on the mound going 12-1 with a 1.73 ERA. Then on the biggest stage in the State Final Four, Brewer went 2-6 over the two games with a homerun, six RBI, a run, and three walks. He also tossed a complete game in the State Semifinal to earn the victory with 13 strikeouts.
