Jefferson County Man Accused of Catholic Store Store Murder gets Trial Date

A Jefferson County man, who is accused of murdering a woman and sexually assaulting two others inside a St. Louis County Catholic supply store in November of 2018 had his murder trial scheduled today in St. Louis County court.

54-year-old Thomas Bruce will go to trial on October 13th.

Reports say Bruce is also facing separate charges of sexual assault of an elderly woman in Hillsboro two weeks before the Catholic store attack.

Bruce has been charged with numerous counts including murder, sodomy, kidnapping, armed criminal action, burglary and tampering with evidence.

Bruce allegedly entered the Catholic supply store with a gun, forced two women to take off their clothes and perform sex acts on him.

He allegedly killed 53-year-old Jamie Schmidt of House Springs after she refused Bruce’s demands.
