(Steelville) In Crawford County on a change of venue from Wayne County, A man from Wayne County has received a life sentence for 2nd degree of a St. Peters man back in April of 2016 in Wayne County.
Michael Burkman of Lowndes will spend the rest of his life in prison for the shotgun killing of John Michael Fowler.
Wayne County deputies originally found Fowler dead on a gravel road while following up on a call about an ATV accident.
Brandon Christopher Norman of Lowndes and Steven Jennewein of Greenville were also charged with 2nd Degree Murder in the case.
The investigation revealed that Burkman told others that he had killed Fowler and they had been involved in an ongoing feud.
Norman still awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to 2nd Degree Murder and that will happen Monday in Wayne County court.
Jennewein cut a plea deal in the case and pleaded guilty to first degree involuntary manslaughter last year.
He was given a 7 year sentence.
