Festus Post 253 Wins American Legion Baseball Regional Tournament

(Hastings, NE)  Festus Post 253 is the American Legion Baseball Mid-South Regional champ!

Festus defeated Bryant 8-3 Sunday in Hastings, Nebraska behind a complete-game pitching performance from Jeremy Isenman and a clutch bases-clearing double by catcher Isack Hamilton in the top of the 5th.

Head Coach Zac Bone talks about that big moment for Hamilton.

Other offensive contributors to the win over Bryant were Jordan Duncan, Jake Leitner, Levi Ebersoldt, and Brendan Smock; each with one RBI. This is the first time that Zac Bone has taken a Post 253 team to the World Series in his 8 years as the head coach.

Post 253 finished 5th at the World Series back in 2009 when it was played in Fargo, North Dakota. At that time, Zac Bone was an assistant coach under his father Pat Bone.

Festus Post 253 is on to Shelby, North Carolina for the 93rd American Legion Baseball World Series. Festus will open “Stars” Pool Play on Thursday against the Western Regional champ, Albuquerque Post 13 out of New Mexico, at 1 p.m. on the ESPN3 online streaming service.
