Ribbon Cutting For New Museum In Farmington

(Farmington) There was a large crowd in attendance Tuesday in Farmington for a ribbon cutting for the new museum located at the old St. Francois County Jail site. It was organized by the city of Farmington and the tourism bureau. Chris Engler is with the bureau. We asked her why they decided to turn the old jail into a museum.

Jessie Williams is a local historian and thinks this is a great addition to the city.

The Jail Museum is located on North Franklin Street. The jail itself dates back to 1870. It’s one of two museums in Farmington. The other is located inside the public library.
