(Bonne Terre) A small earthquake took place early this morning in northern St. Francois County.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the 2.6 magnitude quake hit at 2:09 a.m. about four miles north of Bonne Terre within the boundaries of St. Francois State Park.
It was at a depth of about 4 and a half miles.
70 people, mainly south of the earthquake, tells the U.S.G.S. that they felt the tremor.
However, there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
