(Festus) With the start of a new high school football season right around the corner, Regional Radio is your home for gridiron action, especially in Jefferson County on AM 1400 KJFF.

We’re proud to now announce our broadcast schedule for the 2020 on AM 1400 through the first 8 weeks of the regular season.

We will kick off the 2020 football season on August 28th in Cedar Hill.

New head coach Bill Sucharski and all-conference sophomore running back Jaxin Patterson will lead the Hillsboro Hawks against head coach Corey Toenjes and the host Northwest Lions.

It’s the first meeting between the schools since 2001.

Week 2 will be our first look at DeSoto, as head coach Chris Johnson and the Dragons face a stiff non-conference test from Poplar Bluff on the first Friday in September.

September 11th will feature an intense I-55 Conference rivalry as Jefferson visits Herculaneum.

Senior receiver/defensive back Colby Ott and the Bluejays will look to make it 6 straight wins against head coach Cody Hunter and the Blackcats.

In Week 4, we’ll have another rivalry game for Jefferson as the Bluejays welcome in crosstown foe St. Pius X.

Junior running back/linebacker Nate Ruble and the Lancers have won the last 2 meetings to even the all-time series at 5 wins a piece.

September 25th marks the midway point of the season, and we’ll have a huge showdown in the MAFC Red Division when the Festus Tigers, lead by new head coach A.J. Ofodile, head to Hillsboro to face the Hawks.

Despite winning just 4 games last season, Hillsboro went unbeaten in conference play to win the league title, including a 39-14 win at home over Festus .

In Week 6, we’ll follow the Hawks to Imperial as they continue conference play and face Windsor on the first Friday in October.

Hillsboro knocked off the Owls 25-13 in 2019, but this time Windsor should have dynamic senior quarterback Derek Williams on the field.

It’s back to the I-55 Conference on October 9th when Jefferson heads to Hillsboro to face head coach Dave Dallas and the Grandview Eagles, a matchup the Bluejays have never lost.

We’ll head to Arnold on October 16th, as Week 8 will be the time when a couple of Suburban Conference rivals collide in Seckman and Fox.

Senior quarterback Brock Inman and the Warriors will look to keep adding to an impressive 13-game win streak against senior linebacker Caleb Niebuhr and the Jaguars.

The Week 9 and district playoff broadcasts are yet to be determined.

It all starts in Week 1 on the night of August 28th, beginning every Friday night at 6 with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show, leading up to kickoff one hour later each week on AM 1400 KJFF.
