(Viburnum) Criminal charges have been filed in Iron County against a man for shooting and killing a Viburnum area man’s hunting dog and shooting and injuring another hunting dog.
62-year-old Dr. James Phillip Feinberg, a clinical psychologist from St. Louis, is facing one felony of second degree animal abuse along with two misdemeanors of unlawful use of a weapon and removing an electronic dog collar without the owner’s consent.
According to sources, Feinberg allegedly shot the dogs on November 10th just a couple miles away from the Viburnum Golf and Country Club.
Feinberg had recently bought some property in that area.
His initial arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, January 9th at 9 a.m. at the courthouse in Ironton with Judge Scott Schrum presiding over the hearing.
