(CALEDONIA) The 28th Annual Valley Caledonia Basketball Tournament continues today with the girls and boys semifinals on J-98. The first game of the afternoon features the top seeded South Iron Lady Panthers against the Jefferson Lady Blue Jays.

5th-year South Iron head coach Lawrence Graves talks about the match-up with the Blue Jays.

Jefferson head coach Brandon Joines shares his thoughts on what makes the Panthers difficult to face.

The second girls semifinal is the 2-seeded West County Bulldogs up against the tournament host and 3-seed Valley Caledonia Vikings. The Bulldogs got past Meadow Heights in the first round and head coach Chris Brewer wants to establish the same style of play against Caledonia.

The Vikings cruised past Kingston with seniors Lexie Black and Madison Lucas leading the way.

The first boys semifinal game involves the tournament top seed Bismarck Indians and the 5th-seeded Bourbon War Hawks. 1st year Bismarck head coach Colin Eaton highlights a couple of key factors to advancing past the War Hawks.

The Warhawks upset 4-seed Bunker in the first round with 2016 leading scorer and now senior Dillon Blue leading the charge. Bismarck and Bourbon scheduled for a 7 o’clock tip.

The last semifinal of the night on J-98 pits Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving tournament champ and 2-seed Lesterville against the 3rd-seeded Viburnum Blue Jays. 3rd-year Lesterville head coach Lee Richardson says his guys must make smart decisions when the game becomes frantic.

The concern for Viburnum head coach Randy Payne is preventing big runs by the Bearcats.

The girls and boys Valley Caledonia Tournament semis tips off at 4 with pregame coverage beginning at 3:45 today on J-98.
