(Jefferson County) The fall firearms portion of deer hunting season in Missouri begins on Saturday, November 16th and runs through the 26th.

Nelson Scherrer is an outdoor enthusiast and co-host of the Scenic View on KJFF.

He says during the opening weekend of the firearms portion the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will have mandatory Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) sampling for 29 counties across the state.


6 of the 29 counties in the state highlighted for mandatory CWD sampling are in the Regional Radio listening area.

They are: Jefferson, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Washington, Perry and Crawford counties.
