St. Pius Beats Herky for 3rd Place in 6th Annual Bruce Thomas Basketball Tourney, McKinley Wins Championship

(HERCULANEUM) The St. Pius Lancers earned 3rd place in the 6th Annual Bruce Thomas Boys Basketball Tournament tonight on KJFF with a 69-43 victory over the host Herculaneum Blackcats.

Eli Boyer stuck it to the Blackcats early with a 3 from the left.

And just for good measure, Boyer was at it again in the 3rd.

St. Pius head coach Chris Miller credited great ball movement to the victory.

Lancers senior forward Eli Boyer earned Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game agreed with Coach Miller on the ball movement comment.

The St. Pius Lancers are now 14-5 while the Herculaneum Blackcats are 8-10. St. Pius will host Perryville on Tuesday at 7 p.m. while Herky will be at Bourbon on Tuesday at 7 p.m. In the championship game of the Bruce Thomas Tournament, 3rd-seeded McKinley pulled off the 66-64 upset over the top-seeded Hancock.
