4th of July damage to Northwest Sports Complex building

The number of calls for service to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was down a bit from years past. Sheriff Dave Marshak says one of the top reasons for that may have been because the holiday took place during the week, and not around or close to a weekend.

However, the concession stand and bathroom facility at the Northwest Sports Complex was heavily damaged by fireworks or perhaps explosives. Sheriff Marshak says they are looking into that situation now.

Meanwhile, the Northwest Sports Complex will be closed indefinitely due to the extensive building and property damage. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at (636) 797-5515.
