5 Million COVID Deaths World Wide

(Baltimore) COVID-19 surpassed 5 million total deaths worldwide this week.

Johns Hopkins University says the official pandemic death toll stands at 5,000,425, with just over half of those deaths concentrated in six countries.

The data shows that the United States has lost 745,836 people, more than any other country.

Brazil and Mexico also had high death rates.

Mississippi and Alabama have logged more deaths per capita since the start of the pandemic than any other state.

Missouri ranks 31st in the nation.

Illinois is 24th.
