64th Annual Gene Steighorst Semifinals Feature Windsor vs. Hillsboro and Central vs. Eureka

(HILLSBORO) The semifinals of the 64th Annual Gene Steighorst Invitational at Hillsboro High School are tonight on AM 1400 KJFF.

The Windsor Owls and Hillsboro Hawks are the first ones up at 5:30. Owls’ first-year head coach Jason Gillman was an assistant at Hillsboro for 9 years and will now get the chance to coach against Dan Johnson. All that aside, the 5th-seeded Owls beat Festus on Monday by 12 with three guys scoring in double-figures.

Jason Gillman knows what his Owls are up against with Hillsboro.

Top-seed Hillsboro handled Northwest pretty easily on Monday with a 57-point victory as two guys scored 20-plus points. In preparing for Windsor, Hawks Head Coach Dan Johnson sees a well-organized group with some good athletes.

After the first semifinal is completed between Hillsboro and Windsor, the 2nd-seeded Central Rebels and 3rd-seeded Eureka Wildcats will take the floor.

The Rebels pulled away in the 4th quarter of their 21-point win over Seckman on Tuesday. Rebels Head Coach Allen Davis has great confidence in his guys in going up against Eureka.

Eureka picked up its first win of the season in this tournament with a 52-41 triumph over DeSoto after a late 4th quarter surge. The Eureka Wildcats are coached by Austin Kirby and are the defending champs of the Gene Steighorst. Eureka and Central will tip-off roughly around 7.

Pregame coverage of the Gene Steighorst semifinals begins at 5:15 on AM 1400 KJFF.
