6th Annual Bruce Thomas Boys Basketball Tourney Semis Wednesday Night on KJFF

(HERCULANEUM) The semifinals of the 6th Annual Bruce Thomas Boys Basketball Tournament at Herculaneum High School are tonight on AM 1400 KJFF. The first semi at 7 features the top-seeded Hancock Tigers and the 4th-seeded Herculaneum Blackcats.

Hancock beat Grandview 92-67 in the quarterfinals on Monday behind 33 points from senior Sam Richardson. Blackcats head coach Jason Jarvis knows that Richardson will be a handful for his guys.

Herculaneum defeated Dupo 56-49 on Monday in the quarterfinals behind Jordan Duncan’s 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists. Hancock head coach Dan Knox knows that the Blackcats are more than Duncan.

Herculaneum will carry an 8-8 record into the matchup while Hancock will enter at 13-3. Tip-off is scheduled for 7.

The 2nd semifinal tonight features the 2nd-seeded St. Pius Lancers and the 3rd-seeded McKinley Panthers. McKinley defeated Metro easily on Monday in the quarterfinals, 65-39, behind 22 points from Aaric Norman.

Panthers head coach Drew Simmons has revenge on his mind.

St. Pius beat Northwest 70-57 on Monday with Naeger leading the charge with 33 points. Lancers head coach Chris Miller wasn’t necessarily pleased with the defensive effort in the win and really sees this game against McKinley coming down to just that.

St. Pius enters the fray at 13-4 while McKinley enters at 14-2. The Lancers and Panthers are expected to tip-off at 8:30.

Pregame coverage of the 6th Annual Bruce Thomas Tournament semifinals tonight will begin at 6:45 with the first game between Hancock and Herculaneum. The action from Herculaneum High School is being broadcast on AM 1400 KJFF.
