Courts experiencing a lack of attorneys

(Hillsboro) We’ve all heard the problems with hiring, as many businesses and certain job markets are not getting enough applicants to fill open positions. There does seem to be a lack of attorneys which has slowed down the court system in some areas across the state. Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski says they are down a few positions and continue to make do with what they have.

Stefanski says cases are still taking place, in fact, they are holding more trials than most other courthouses.

While there may be a lack of prosecuting and defense attorneys, all judge positions are filled in the 23rd Judicial Circuit.
