The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office recognizing National Corrections Officers week

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has spent the week recognizing their officers at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro as this is National Correctional Officer’s Week. Corrections Officer Amy Luebbers says she became a corrections officer after several years in the food and beverage industry. She says it was quite a change of pace when she decided to do something else.

Brenda Short serves as the Jefferson County Jail Administrator. She says their officers are very dedicated, and it’s not an easy job.

Former President Ronald Reagan established National Correctional Officer’s Week in 1984 as a way to thank COs for their service and celebrate their contributions to society.
