Active Covid cases over 3000 in Jefferson County

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Health Department has reported over 3000 active cases of Covid-19 in the county after their latest numbers were released yesterday (Tuesday). Director Kelley Vollmar says they anticipated a jump in cases after the holidays.

Vollmar says with the number of increasing cases, comes the rise for testing. She says testing kits are in short supply at the Health Department and other resources.

Yesterday, the JCHD reported 633 new cases of Covid-19 which is a three-day total, bringing the total number of positive cases to 42,743 since March of 2020. The current active cases are 3,173 and there have been 398 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
