(Crystal City, Festus) City employees were kept busy over the past few days with snow plowing and upkeep. Crystal City City Administrator Jason Eisenbeis says the extremely cold temperatures caused some issues on Sunday.

Eisenbeis says the two water main breaks were along Missouri Avenue and River Bend Estates Drive. The other break was on Burgess Avenue and 11th Street.

Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says the snow coming in waves made it tough.

Several crews all over Jefferson County worked around the clock in rotating shifts to keep the streets as clear as possible. Several other municipal facilities were closed as well like DeSoto, Herculaneum, Hillsboro, and Pevely.
