(Jefferson County) All public school districts in Jefferson County will be closing at 5 o’clock this (Tuesday) afternoon and will tentatively resume in early April. The obvious reason is to try to help contain the spread of Covid-19. Festus R-6 Superintendent Dr. Link Luttrell says all the districts made the decision after meeting with county officials and the Jefferson County Health Department.

Dr. Luttrell says while they are closed, all employees will still be paid.

All Jefferson County School Districts are scheduled to return to school as normal on Monday, April 6th.
