American Legion Tourney Day 4

(Ste. Genevieve) Ste. Genevieve Post 150 will play for a district championship. Ste. Gen knocked off Rock Memorial last (Thursday) night to reach the American Legion District 13 finals. The night began with Rock Memorial winning an elimination game 9-4 over the Mineral Area Raiders. Rock gave a game effort in their second game of the night, turning to star third baseman Trevor Quick to tie the game up in the fifth inning.

Rock Memorial claimed the lead later in the inning, but Ste. Genevieve’s Jayden Gegg flexed his muscle to knot things back up.

Ste. Gen took the lead for good in a big sixth inning.

Post 150 survived a late rally from Rock Memorial to improve to 19-7, while the season ends for Rock with a record of 17-12. Ste. Genevieve will take on Festus Post 253 for the District 13 championship this weekend.
