(Farmington) Despite having a very good month of November, the American Red Cross says an urgent need for more blood donations continues. Joe Zydlow with the Red Cross says there are many factors causing the shortage, including the upcoming holidays and the flu. He says Mother Nature is also playing a role in the shortage.

There’s a blood drive Tuesday at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. There’s one next Thursday at the Knights of Columbus in Fredericktown. There’s a drive on Monday, December 16th at the First Baptist Church in Farmington and one on the 17th at the Faith Cowboy Church in Desloge.
