Another Week in the “Red” for Daily Coronavirus Cases

(Jefferson County) It’s no surprise Jefferson County remains in the red status in the COVID-19 color guidance indicators as new positive cases continue to exceed 100 per day.

Brianne Zwiener is the Public Information Officer for the Jefferson County Health Department. She has the official CDC week 37 update.

Among the people testing positive for COVID, a majority of them were unvaccinated.

A little more than 36 percent of eligible residents have been fully vaccinated in Jefferson County. That’s more than 81,000 people.

In other news, the health department reports the second positive case of West Nile was found in the county this year.
