Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick this weekend brings challenges

(Kimmswick) The annual Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick is their biggest weekend of the year in terms of sales and monies generated for the river town. However, it also comes with its issues in terms of traffic and parking. Sheriff Dave Marshak says this weekend will certainly test his officers.

Sheriff Marshak says avoiding a major backup on southbound I-55 at Imperial Main Street is another huge challenge.

Sherrif Marshak says anywhere between 17 and 21 Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies will help with traffic detail this Saturday and Sunday. The annual Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick was canceled last year to Covid-19, and they expect a large crowd this weekend.
