Applebee’s Of Farmington Athlete Of The Week Alexis Hedgcorth Helps West County Get Back To Springfield

(Frankclay) Alexis Hedgcorth played a pivotal role in helping West County get back to the Class 3 state semifinals and was named our Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. Hedgcorth averaged 9 points and 8 rebounds a game in West County’s championship victories over St. Pius, Bishop Dubourg, and Portageville last week. The 5’11 junior isn’t a gaudy scorer, and that doesn’t matter to her…

It’s the second straight year, and second year ever, that West County has made it to the final weekend of the season. Hedgcorth says this group of girls have been playing together for a long time and even their parents parents saw what they saw in themselves…

West County came in 4th place last year and they began this season with the expectation of getting back to Springfield, but the Lady Bulldogs wouldn’t allow themselves to think that way…

Hedgcorth says there has been a lot of love from the community this week…

Hedgcorth says it was a fun experience last year, but it feels more like a business trip this time around…

#6 West County are 24-5 on the year. They’ll take on #2 El Dorado Springs Friday evening at 6 o’clock at Missouri State University. We’ll broadcast the game on J98 with pregame coverage beginning at 5:45.
