Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete Of The Week: Senior Taylor Lorenz, Arcadia Valley High School

(Ironton) Taylor Lorenz from Arcadia Valley High School is this week’s Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. The senior is a setter on the volleyball team that will be competing for a state championship later this week. Across four matches last week in the district and state tournaments, Lorenz compiled 143 assists for an average of 11-per-set, 35 digs, nine aces and five kills. Head coach Tara Lamb says Lorenz is a captain, four-year varsity starter and leads by example.
Lamb says this year’s streak of tigers is a unique bunch.
Arcadia Valley will face Fair Grove in the Class Two semifinals Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock in Cape Girardeau. The state championship game is Saturday at noon and the Class Two 3rd place game is Saturday morning at 10. As Athlete of the Week, Taylor Lorenz will receive a t-shirt, certificate and a coupon for a free entrée at Applebee’s in Farmington.
