The 93rd annual Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament got underway with 3 first round games Monday night.

The evening started with the top-seeded South Iron Panthers routing the Bismarck Indians 105-9.

Defense powered easy baskets for the Panthers all game, including on a big breakaway in the first half.

Panthers head coach Dusty Dinkins liked how his team looked in their season opener.

South Iron moves to the semifinals to face either Ellington or Clearwater.
You can hear that first-round game Tuesday evening with pregame coverage starting at 5:45 on the MyMoInfo SportsStream.
Game number two saw the second-seeded Lesterville Bearcats also roll to an 85-39 win over the West County Bulldogs.
The Applebee’s Player of the Game came off the bench for Lesterville.

Mathes finished with 26 points.
Bearcats head coach Anthony Caruso says Mathes can sort of be a secret weapon.

The final game of the night was a back-and-forth affair between the Arcadia Valley Tigers and Fredericktown Blackcats, but the Tigers prevailed 51-49 behind some big shots from Daniel Horn.

Horn finished with 18 points and was named Applebee’s Player of the Game.
With leading scorer Carter Brogan in foul trouble for most of the game, Tigers head coach Ricky Turnbough said he got a complete team effort in the win.

Arcadia Valley and Lesterville will match up in the other semifinal Wednesday night.
