The Arcadia Valley Tigers volleyball team fell just short of capturing the Class 2 state title on Saturday afternoon, losing in three sets to the Hermann Bearcats 25-21, 21-25 and 25-17 in a match heard on J-98.

After Hermann earned the win in set one, the Tigers got off to a good start in the second set.

With the set going down to the wire, the Tigers put together a late rally to tie the match.

But as the third set began, Hermann built an early 5-0 lead and never looked back as they captured the state title.Despite the defeat, Arcadia Valley earned second place in Class 2, its best finish in program history. The Tigers had a 30-6-2 overall record this season.
