Arcadia Valley Volleyball Heading To Class 2 State Quarterfinals, Re-Match With Scott City Saturday Afternoon

(Ironton) The Arcadia Valley volleyball team will play in the Class Two State Quarterfinals Saturday afternoon. The Tigers hosted, and defeated, the Collegiate School of Med-Bio Science Owls in straight sets (25-9, 25-12, 25-9) Thursday evening in Ironton. Head coach Tara Lamb says the girls were very excited after securing the win.

The Tigers are 16-15-4 on the year. It’s not a flashy record, but Lamb says she puts together a tough schedule and doesn’t water it down.

Lamb has been the head volleyball coach for around 15 years now. She says the message to her team going into the post season is the same message she delivers on day one.

Arcadia Valley will head south to Scott City to face the Rams Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock. A.V. and Scott City met eralier this year, splitting a two-set match at the Dig For Life in Cape Girardeau. Lamb sees the Rams as a very comparable opponent.

Lamb says it’s taken everyone on the roster to get to this point.

First serve is at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon in Scott City between the Rams and Arcadia Valley. The winner goes to the final four in Cape Girardeau next Friday evening.
