Arcadia Valley’s Alyssa Glanzer And Elena Lara Finish 2nd At Tennis Doubles State Championships

(Arcadia Valley) Alyssa Glanzer and Elena Lara from Arcadia Valley finished second in the Class 1 state doubles tennis tournament on October 15th. The pair of seniors won their first two matches of the state tournament without losing a set, but Lara says they were tested in the semifinals against the team from Mt. Vernon.

The duo met a talented team from Holcomb in the state championship and fell in two sets. It was quite the journey for the pairing.

Glanzer said it was even a little surprising.

This is all considering that Glanzer and Lara had only started playing tennis since their junior year. Glanzer tells us why she and her best friend decided to pick up tennis racquets.

Arcadia Valley wasn’t the only area school represented at the tennis state championships. North County’s Lauren Politte and Lucy Pace competed in the singles bracket.

Glanzer and coach Charles Lee say the two teams supported each other in their endeavors.

Lara and Lee tell us what their favorite memories were from this season.
