Arcadia Valley’s Emma Detmer Talks About Being The Applebee’s Of Farmington Athlete of The Week

(Iron County) Arcadia Valley cross country runner Emma Detmer is our Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. The sophomore captured the Class 2 District 1 championship in the 5K last Saturday. Detmer said it was said it was a pretty standard week leading up to the race.

Up next for Detmer is the Class 2 State Championships this Saturday in Columbia. Detmer competed at State last year and finished 26th but the top 25 earn all-state honors. Detmer was less than a second away from all-state recognition as a freshman.

Detmer tells us how she found out she would be going back to State and what this week of training has been like.

The sophomore will race in the Class 2 state championships Saturday at noon in Columbia. As Athlete of the Week, Detmer receives a t-shirt, a certificate and a coupon for free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
