Arrests Made After Fredericktown Policeman Fires Weapon at Suspects Who Tried Fleeing

(Fredericktown) After a police-involved shooting Sunday afternoon, a Fredericktown man is now in custody.

Aaron Bertrand was charged with six felonies after Fredericktown police attempted to arrest him in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

The 50-year old Bertrand was wanted on 11 active felony warrants when two police officers attempted to arrest him.

As police approached his vehicle, they saw Bertrand with a hand gun.

They told him to drop the weapon and when he did not comply, one officer fired three rounds at the vehicle which fled the scene.

Bertrand was later found by deputies and arrested in rural Madison County on Sunday night.

A person in Bertrand’s vehicle, Jessie Thompson, also had active warrants.

He was also arrested and taken into custody.
